This term the Reception children have been learning all about growth and last month they had a fantastic trip to Canaleta de Mislata. During the day the children learnt about the life cycles of different animals. They enjoyed educational games and activities. Luckily, the weather on the day was exceptional and we had lots of fun in the sun.
As part of our topic on life cycles we have decided to hatch some chickens in Reception. The children carefully placed eight fertilized eggs in a special incubator. The eggs need turning three times a day and we have to control the humidity by adding water to make sure the chickens grow properly. The chicks will hatch after 21 days
The children in Reception are enjoying the story Owl Babies by Martin Waddell. They feel very sorry for Bill as they know what it is like when we miss our mums. We have created posters in an attempt to find Mummy Owl and collages to show what she looks like. We have also built huge nests for the owl babies
