The children in Y5 and 6 have begun their very own football league. In Cookery Y5 have been learning fish are caught or bred for food. Even though some students were a bit unwilling at first, they touched some sea fish and shellfish, then cleaned mussels, cooked them and enjoyed them! They learned a valuable lesson: cooking isn’t always glamourous!
Y5 have been studying Forces and Simple Machines in Science. They tested friction with toy cars and ramps, making sure their test was fair. As an end of topic project, students built balloon-powered racing cars, which showed how efficient their design was. In Y6 we have been studying the Vikings and the Anglo-Saxons. The Anglo-Sanxons and the Vikings both invaded Britain, although the Anglo-Saxons arrived there first. The Anglo-Saxons used to write with Runes, which are very different to the letters we use these days. The Runic alphabet had a total of thirty-three characters. The Vikings by the way, were great
